One of the hallmarks of the lighting showroom industry is the abundance of privately owned stores. To underscore its commitment to individual and multi-store retailers, the theme of this year’s conference is “Independence Empowered: Get Plugged In.”
Now reaching north of 150 members/250+ showrooms, Lighting One has been steadily increasing its ranks over the past several years. That growth has strengthened the group’s buying power, which in turn provides greater discounts and benefits for its distributor members. The decision to move the organization’s annual convention from January to June has yielded a larger turn-out for the International Lighting Market held concurrently at the Dallas Market Center this week.
At last night’s gala dinner and awards event, which officially closed the two-day, seminar-packed convention, outstanding Lighting One members – manufacturers, retailers, and sales representatives – who have made significant contributions in several categories were rewarded for their efforts.
