This year has been a tough one for all, as we continue to navigate a world pandemic in which many have lost loved ones too. It’s more vital than ever to practice kindness this holiday season and to give what you can to those who need it the most. While our holiday celebrations might look a bit different this year, our tradition of giving holiday gifts hasn’t changed!
Every year, the holiday season brings forth an air of excitement at CCA Global Partners offices. As we bustle about preparing for holiday sales, winter convention and the winter edition of the Beautiful Home Design Made Simple magazine for Carpet One Floor & Home, we also take a pause to remember those who are less fortunate than us.
In past years, CCA Global Partners has raised donations for the Families in Transition non-profit which provides access to basic supplies and programming for individuals and family members who have experienced homelessness in the Manchester, Concord, Dover and Wolfeboro, New Hampshire communities.
Families in Transitions was founded in 1991 to provide quality, affordable housing and services to individuals and families struggling with homelessness. Since its inception, Families in Transitions has committed to innovative and effective programming to help people lead healthy and successful lives.
Back in 2018, the organization joined forces with New Horizons, a nonprofit soup kitchen, food pantry and homeless shelter and the two merged their programs to better serve the individuals and families in the community who are most at need.
Every year, a Giving Tree is set up in the main lobby of the Manchester office where employees can select a gift that they want to give to the foundation and in exchange are given an ornament to hang on the tree. Past gifts have included simple cleaning items like laundry soap and dish detergent to food and clothing.

CCA employees still have the opportunity to support Families in Transition and New Horizons by donating gifts, sponsoring events and providing families with home essentials this holiday season.
In 2019 alone, Families in Transitions provided shelter for 1,540 individuals, supportive service housing to 545 people, substance use treatment to 543 individuals and over 224,000 meals.
This year, our employees have given donations across the board like paying for bus passes, sponsoring movie nights for families, giving gift certificates to participants for local stores, donating healthy snacks and providing participants with brand new bedding for their homes.
In November, CCA Global Partners also held a Cereal Drive for the Pine Haven Boys Center, a facility that cares for boys with behavioral, educational or emotional problems. The center is run by Catholic priests from Italy who work with the boys who are age 5 to 15 at the live-in facility. The home helps provide stability, as many of the children have suffered abuse at the hands of people they knew.
In the past, CCA Global Partners employees have visited the Pine Haven Boys Center and made solid friendships with some of the kids. As we enter the holiday season, while we can’t visit in person, we will continue to show the Pine Haven Boys our support…and endless amounts of cereal!
