This past summer brought forth some exciting changes for the International Design Guild including the promotion of CCA’s very own Brian Murphy to director of the luxury flooring brand. Formerly Senior Regional Business Consultant for Flooring America, Brian has experience and knowledge in product, operations and all things CCA which will serve him well in his new position. As a marketing alliance of luxury flooring showrooms, IDG’s mission is to provide a foundation for their customers’ vision along with exclusive products for homeowners, interior designers and architects.
“It’s my goal for us to become an invaluable resource for Guild members. Coming into this position at such a critical time as we emerge from the pandemic, I am focused on helping our members continue to thrive, to be more profitable and secure more market share,” Brian explained.
A veteran of the Flooring America team for 17 years now, Brian is passionate about working with independently owned businesses. During has time as a business consultant, he was a great resource for his members as well as the Regional Business Consultant team.
"Brian is a great fit to lead IDG, not only because of his deep understanding and knowledge of the industry given 17 years history with us, but because he is passionate about helping independently owned businesses,” President of International Design Guild Keith Spano said. “He’s dedicated to helping owners operate more efficiently while achieving their business goals. We’re looking forward to the innovation he’ll bring to this next chapter for IDG.”
As part of his transition process, Brian hired Sarah Fitzgerald as his new Business Consultant for IDG team.
“With Sarah Fitzgerald added as our Business Consultant, I’ve got a great team and together, we’re going to move our members and this organization forward,” Brian said.
As for Sarah’s thoughts, she’s excited to see where Brian leads the division in the upcoming years.
“After only working with Brian for a few weeks, I can see why he’s so highly spoken of,” Sarah said. “Brian has a wealth of knowledge in the flooring industry and has been a great mentor so far. He also has a vision for the International Design Guild and this is clearly demonstrated in every discussion that’s been had, on how to provide the most value to our members and how to help our members achieve the utmost success.”
As he enters this role, Brian will be working on membership-driven initiatives, sourcing exclusive products and will also be involved in IDG’s Design for a Difference (DFAD) nonprofit. DFAD is a design-driven movement led by designers and IDG members that gives non-profits and charities free interior design makeovers.
“Design for Difference is an incredible initiative that gives our members and the designers they work with a clear and focused channel to give back to their communities,” Brian said. “I can’t think of a better way for Guild members help others and support the communities they live in.”
