CCA Global Partners Continues To Connect With Members During Pandemic

Working at CCA, Member Stories CCA Global Partners

A “normal” January includes a large in-person Convention for many of our businesses. These Conventions bring together members of our cooperatives to hear about new programs and initiatives, network, and meet with suppliers and partners.

While we couldn’t hold an in-person convention this winter due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent restrictions, we were still able to connect with all our members via our President’s Connect Zoom Calls. CCA Global Partners Co-CEOs Howard Brodsky and Rick Bennett joined these calls on Wednesday January 13 to discuss the company’s progress, fiscal year 2020 and connect with all division members.

As hundreds of members joined the conference call from their local stores across the nation, many old friends were able to say hello on screen for the first time in months. Although it still wasn’t the same as being face-to-face, Zoom is the next best thing.

During the meeting, Convention dates were announced for Carpet One Floor & Home, Flooring America/Flooring Canada, The Floor Trader and International Design Guild divisions. The company plans to have their first official in-person convention at the Gaylord in Denver, Colorado this July.

With more people staying home, working from home and learning from home, the desire for home improvements has remained strong and many of our locally owned businesses have been quite busy. While they focus on keeping their stores safe for customers and staff, our corporate team is getting creative to help support retailers in the absence of our in-person meetings.

During our Conventions, we typically have a buying floor with over a hundred vendors, partners, and corporate booths. Members are able to meet with suppliers and take advantage of Convention-only specials. This year, in place of our winter convention buying specials, CCA created a digital format to share all the product specials available for a limited time. We dubbed them PowerBuys and created a digital catalog with over 150 pages of deals.

This week, regional member meetings will also take place via video conferencing, as our members continue to stay connected virtually. These meetings serve to update local retailers on new programs as well as create an open forum for them to network and ask questions of cooperative leadership and department leads.

While we all anxiously await our in-person networking, we will continue to search for ways to keep our members connected and provide the support they need to keep their businesses running safely and profitably.
