CCA Global Partners Raises $125,000 for FCIF With Annual Golf Tournament

Learn more about one of CCA Global Partners' biggest fundraisers of the year in honor of late co-founder Alan Greenberg.

As one of CCA Global Partner's fondest traditions, the Annual Alan Greenberg Charity Golf Tournament takes place every year and honors the late Alan Greenberg, CCA's co-CEO and co-founder. During this event, the best and brightest in the floor covering industry gathered for a round of golf at the historic Barnsley Gardens Resort in Georgia to raise money for the Floor Covering Industry Foundation (FCIF), a mission that we are proud to support.

After the unfortunate cancellation of last year's golf tournament due to the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's golf tournament was highly anticipated and back in full swing.

"The Alan Greenberg Golf tournament is always a highlight of the year," Vice President of Lionsbridge Contracting Group Bill Wissler said. "After a year off due to Covid, it was great to catch up with all of our great supplier partners across multiple CCA business channels. After a morning weather scare, I think we had the best overall weather that we've ever had for the event."

Celebrating its 19th year, the Annual Alan Greenberg Charity Golf Tournament once again took place on Wednesday, September 22, where CCA Global Partners members, staff, partners, and friends gathered to hit the fairway and raise some money.

Thanks to the support of many people across the floor covering industry, we were able to raise $125,000 for the Floor Covering Industry Foundation (FCIF). The tournament drew company owners, vendors, manufacturers, distributors, and supporters from throughout the country and was a day of fellowship, friendliness, and friendly competition with a common purpose of goodwill. Their generous donations will go towards the organization's ongoing efforts to assist those affiliated with the floor covering industry experiencing unexpected hardships due to illness, disability, or other life-altering situations.

"We are beyond thankful to be together again this year," Charlie Dilks, Chief Product Officer at CCA Global Partners and Chairman of the FCIF Board, said. "During these unprecedented times, we're very fortunate to gather, to celebrate, and to lend helping hands."

The tournament was dubbed a success, with friends across the industry coming together for the first time in a year. CCA's Charlie Dilks, Mohawk's Jeff Meadows, and CCA's Bill Wissler won first place while Leggett & Platt Flooring's Mike Cronin and Erik Kempf and Nance Industries' Nash and Mike Nance swept up second place.

Through the uncertainty duress surrounding the COVID-19 crisis, the FCIF found its mission more critical than ever and increased its efforts last fall to raise $137,550 during a virtual fundraising event. Since we couldn't gather in person to host the annual golf tournament, the virtual event took its place. This year's event was made even more emotional by the generosity of devoted contributors and the team's sheer endurance.

"It was terrific to be back at the FCIF Alan Greenberg Charity Golf Tournament, seeing old industry friends and raising money for a wonderful cause," President of Flooring America/Flooring Canada Keith Spano said. "It's a really special event, seeing competing vendors all come together to support those in our industry that have been struck by catastrophic illness or hardship, and the CCA team did an excellent job pulling off a first-class event and raising over $125,000 for the charity."
